It is the trademark we registered for the main lightening ingredient we use in our cosmetic line MAKARI de Suisse.
This name shows the natural origine of this extract, purely vegetal and treated exclusively with non toxic solvents, as hot water and ethanol.
It is impossible to « destroy » the melanin in the skin, because it is a very resistant pigment.
The only possibility is to diminish the production of melanin.
To conclude Végéclairine is the ideal active ingredient as far a lightening effect is desired, more, it really cares for the skin.
The Végéclairine comes from the roots of the White Mulberry tree, growing in many parts of the world, mainly in Asia. It was also cultivated in Europe in the past centuries, as it is the only possible food for silkworms. In many coutries today, mulberry is used as a fodder. In human medicine : the bark of this tree is used since very ancient times in TMC (traditionnal Chinese medicine), under the name sang bai pi, or sohakuhi in Japanese, to fight hypertension, oedema and cough. In this case, the usual dosage is +- 10 grams per day. All these facts clearly demonstrate that this extract is absolutely non toxic. Pharmacological studies has been made on this extract. Melanin is the pigment present in the skin of each human being, giving a more or less black or brown appearance. For esthetic and sociocultural reasons, some people wants a lighter complexion. As it takes around 3 weeks from the basal layer (where melanin is produced) to the upper layer of the skin, this explains that the results are best after 3 weeks of application The Végéclairine is the right ingredient to diminish the production of melanin by a natural way, without any secondary effect . How it works : the Végéclairine inhibits an enzyme, tyrosinase, which is an essential factor of the production of melanin. Tyrosinase catalyzes different steps between the substrate (tyrosine, that is an amino-acid) and melanin itself. When tyrosinase is less active, the production of melanin decreases. Many lightening ingredients work the same way, but are sometimes too weak, sometimes bring irritation or sensitization, and possibly more serious problems. For example hydroquinone, which is now banned in many countries because it is directly toxic to some cells, and can bring everlasting discoloration. Another interesting point is that Végéclairine, containing many flavonoïds, is a strong antioxydant and fights free radicals, this property is more and more appreciated in anti-aging products. |
